Parisians are simple when it comes to fashion and their choice of personal style. French style has been romanticised by pop-culture, which results in us over-thinking it and packing a beret and black and white striped tee when we visit France, when on the contrary, the French gravitate toward simple and chic. Neutral colours and classic pieces are all you need to look chic on the streets of Paris. The French tend to steer away from fast fashion, such as the pieces available in every retail outlet, instead they treasure the classics. Well-presented, no sloppy sneakers and yoga pants when you’re out on the town, as the French value self-respect and effort in one’s appearance.
