World Cancer Day was founded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) in support of
the World Cancer declaration which was written in the same year.
This initiative began, in order for individuals across the globe to unite against our global cancer epidemic.
The aim is to save millions of people in preventable circumstances.
The foundation strives to educate young and old about the disease and to raise awareness around this sensitive topic,
in order to create a united front against this deadly disease.
The World Cancer Day organisation is a collaboration of various partners,
whom aid the movement and encourage detection, prevention and treatment.
